Rear DVD Player Connections

If you need help "hooking up" your DVD player or recorder, I can help:

  Left to Right:

DVD player, unused digital and optical audio outputs, HDMI cable to
TV, 5.1 channel surround sound analog audio outputs to receiver.

Proper selection of input and output connections depend on your DVD player
or recorder. Available outputs will vary according to the DVD player or recorder
signal output capability. This will depend upon whether you have a standard
DVD player with progressive scan 480P output, upscaler to near HDTV at 720P
or 1080i, full upscaling to near HDTV quality at 1080P, or full high definition at
true 1080P ("Blu-Ray" or "HD DVD")*. I will help you examine your DVD player
or recorder to determine which outputs give the best picture for your equipment.

*Note: "Blu-Ray" is a registered trademark of Sony Corporation.
"HD DVD" is a registered trademark of Toshiba Corporation.
